A Pay Scale Gazette image has been spreading quickly on Facebook after the approval of the National Pay Scale 2026. Many people are sharing the image because it appears to contain details about the new salary structure and related government rules.
However, the Finance Ministry has said that the circulating image is fake.
An official from the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance confirmed the matter on Monday night. According to the official, the image was created using artificial intelligence and should not be treated as an official government gazette.

The fake Pay Scale Gazette image reportedly includes different provisions under the title “Government Employees (Salary and Allowances) Order, 2026.”

Because the image looks like an official government document, it has attracted attention on social media. Many government employees and other interested people have been sharing it without checking whether it came from an official source.
A Finance Division official said the image is fake and was made using AI. The official also advised people not to believe or share the document as genuine.
This warning is important because an official gazette normally comes through the relevant government authority. A picture shared on Facebook does not by itself confirm that a new government rule has been issued.
When Will the Official Gazette Be Published?
The Finance Division is working on the documents needed to implement the new pay scale.
When asked when the official Pay Scale Gazette could be published, the Finance Division official said the work is ongoing. The gazette may be published this week or next week, according to the official.
Until the official document is released, employees should avoid relying on screenshots or social media posts that claim to show the final pay scale rules.
National Pay Scale 2026 Has Been Approved
The development comes after the government approved the National Pay Scale 2026 on Monday, August 31.
The existing 20-grade structure will remain in place under the new pay scale. The approved structure sets the starting basic salary for Grade 20 at Tk 20,000.
At the other end of the scale, the basic salary for Grade 1 has been set at Tk 156,000.
The new pay structure is scheduled to be implemented in phases from July 1, 2026.
What Will the Official Document Explain?
The Finance Ministry’s earlier press release said that the Finance Division would issue the necessary notifications, orders and instructions for implementing the new pay scale.
These official documents are expected to explain important matters related to the new salary structure.
They will cover issues such as salary fixation, different allowances, pension arrangements and benefits after retirement.
For this reason, government employees may need to wait for the official documents before making decisions based on the new pay scale.
Why Employees Should Wait for the Official Gazette
The spread of the fake Pay Scale Gazette image shows how quickly unverified information can travel through social media.
A document may look genuine because it contains government-style language, official-looking headings or familiar terms. But that does not mean it has actually been issued by the government.
Employees should therefore check official government announcements before accepting any salary-related document as authentic.
For now, the Finance Ministry‘s position is clear: the image circulating on Facebook is not the official gazette.
The government is still working on the necessary documents, and the official Pay Scale Gazette could be released this week or next week.
