Texas A&M Football Opens Season With 50-0 Win Over Missouri State

Texas A&M Football: Texas A&M got off to a slow start in its season opener, but the Aggies found their rhythm after halftime and rolled past Missouri State 50-0.

Despite a few mistakes in the first half, the Aggies took control of both offense and defense in the second half. The defense held Missouri State to just 56 yards in the entire game and did not allow the opponent to score any points.

Texas A&M Football Offense Starts Slowly

Texas A&M’s offense was slow to get going early in the game.

The team suffered a few sacks in the first half. Along with this, the offense did not get the desired momentum due to holding penalties and running plays being blocked in the red zone.

However, some changes were made to the offensive line during the break. The offense looked much better after halftime. Texas A&M became much stronger against Missouri State’s defensive line and began to create space in the running game.

Texas A&M Football Defense Controls the Game

The starting players left the field at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Before that, Missouri State had only managed to advance 56 yards and only got three first downs.

Missouri State was able to cross midfield only once in the entire game. They could not create any major offensive plays.

Texas A&M’s defensive line did a good job of stopping the run. The linebackers closed the gap quickly and the secondary did not give the opponent’s passing game much opportunity.

Rueben Owens has performed well as a veteran player. However, some of the running backs behind him have also caught attention.

Texas A&M’s kicking game also had some questions before the game. However, The kickers also gave the Aggies some relief against Missouri State.

Arizona State Is Next for Texas A&M Football

A win over Missouri State was the expected result. But Texas A&M faces a bigger test next game.

The team will face the Arizona State Sun Devils next Saturday at Kyle Field.

Improving the offensive line, finding the right roles for the running backs and keeping the defense strong will be important in that game.

Despite some problems in the first game, a 50-0 win is a confidence-boosting start for Texas A&M.
