The Nasima Kadir Molla High School and Homes in Narsingdi has come under attention after all 382 of its students who appeared in this year’s SSC examination received GPA-5.
The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has asked the school to explain whether any method outside the regular rules was used to achieve such a result.
A show-cause notice was sent to the school’s head teacher on Sunday. The education board has asked the school to provide several documents and appear before the board within seven working days.
The documents include information about students admitted to the school, students registered in Class Nine, students who took part in the school’s selection test and students whose forms were filled out for the SSC examination.

382 Students Got GPA-5
According to the school’s head teacher, Emon Hossain, a total of 483 students took part in the school’s test examination this year. However, only 382 students were allowed to take the final SSC examination.
He said all 382 students who appeared in the SSC examination received GPA-5.
The remaining 101 students could not sit for the SSC examination because they did not pass the school’s test examination. The school did not complete their forms for the final examination, according to the head teacher.
He also said the school followed the rules regarding eligibility for the SSC examination.
Board Wants an Explanation
The education board is now looking into how the school achieved a 100 percent GPA-5 result among its SSC candidates.
The main question is whether the school used any method that went against the rules to select students before allowing them to complete the examination forms.
The school has been asked to present the necessary records so that the board can examine the matter.
The investigation does not mean that the students’ results have been declared invalid. Rather, the board wants an explanation and supporting documents from the institution.
Similar Result Was Seen Last Year
This is not the first time the school has recorded an exceptional SSC result.
In the 2025 SSC examination, 320 students from Nasima Kadir Molla High School and Homes appeared in the examination, and all of them received GPA-5.
Among them, 317 students were from the science group, while three were from the business studies group.
The repeated 100 percent GPA-5 result has now drawn fresh attention from the education board.
What the School Says
Head teacher Emon Hossain said the school has a strict system for its test examination. Students who do not pass the test are not given the opportunity to complete the form for the SSC examination.
He explained that the school followed the board’s rules when deciding which students could move forward to the final examination.
A former student’s guardian, speaking without revealing their name, also described the school’s test examination system.
According to the guardian, the test questions are prepared in a way that makes it difficult for weaker students to pass. As a result, students who are likely to achieve an A+ are more likely to qualify for the final examination.
However, the guardian also praised the school’s teachers for helping weaker students. Extra classes after regular lessons and home visits were mentioned as some of the efforts made by teachers to support students.
Why the Case Has Drawn Attention
A 100 percent GPA-5 result is unusual, especially when the number of candidates is large. In this case, the fact that 483 students took the test but only 382 appeared in the SSC examination has become an important part of the discussion.
The education board will now examine the school’s records and explanation.
The final position on the matter will depend on what the school submits and what the board finds after reviewing the documents.
For now, the school remains under scrutiny over the unusually high SSC result, while the board has asked the institution to explain its student selection and examination process.
