The 22 Carat Gold Price in Bangladesh has increased again, following the latest price adjustment by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS). On Sunday, August 16, 2026, gold is being sold across the country at the newly revised rates announced on Saturday.
According to the latest BAJUS decision, the price of 22-carat gold has increased by Tk 2,158 per bhori. The new rate came into effect from 10am on Saturday, August 15.
22 Carat Gold Price in Bangladesh Today
As of August 16, the price of 22-carat gold stands at Tk 236,779 per bhori, including VAT. One bhori is equal to 11.664 grams.

The latest prices for different types of gold are:
- 22-carat gold: Tk 236,779 per bhori
- 21-carat gold: Tk 226,165 per bhori
- 18-carat gold: Tk 194,206 per bhori
- Traditional method gold: Tk 158,630 per bhori
These rates will remain in effect at jewellery shops until BAJUS announces another adjustment.
Why Did the Increase 22 Carat Gold Price in Bangladesh?
BAJUS said the price of gold in the local market had increased. In particular, the price of Tezabi gold, or pure gold, went up.
After considering the overall market situation, BAJUS revised the prices of different types of gold. The latest adjustment means customers now have to pay more for gold jewellery than under the previous rates.
However, the final cost of jewellery can vary because making charges depend on the design and type of jewellery.
Previous 22 Carat Gold Price in Bangladesh
Before the latest increase, BAJUS had reduced the price of gold on August 14.
At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was set at Tk 234,621 per bhori, including VAT. The 21-carat rate was Tk 224,065, while 18-carat gold was priced at Tk 192,398 per bhori.
Traditional method gold was priced at Tk 157,172 per bhori.
The prices announced on August 14 became effective from 10am that day. Two days later, BAJUS increased the prices again by Tk 2,158 per bhori.
VAT and Making Charges
BAJUS has also clarified how VAT and other charges should be handled when buying jewellery.
VAT is already included in the selling price of gold and silver jewellery. Therefore, jewellery shops cannot collect VAT separately from customers.
Making charges may still apply depending on the design of the jewellery. The existing BAJUS rules will also remain applicable for jewellery exchange and purchase after excluding the specified VAT, making charges and stone costs.
